Getting a Leg up on Social Media

Social media has practically embedded itself in the workings of today’s modern society, and the business circuit is no exception. You share inspirational messages over Twitter, or like and comment on a new promo making the rounds on Facebook. If you truly want to make the most out of social media marketing, here are a few tips you should put to practice:

Timing is Everything

Like any online marketing method, social media marketing must be timed properly. This requires you to research and define your target market  to see when majority of your customers are online. In general, according to an article from AdWeek.com, the best time to post on Facebook is between 2-5PM during the weekdays, while the best time to post on Twitter would be 1-3PM during the weekends.

Show Me!

Ideally, your posts should include photos or videos related to your status update. Why? Twitter market research shows that tweets with images receive 150 percent more retweets than tweets without images. On Facebook, posts with images receive 53 percent more likes, and 104 percent more comments.

Shared

Use social media to promote the content you’ve written on your company blog. Not only does this help your blog gain more readers, but it also increases the number of backlinks necessary for better search engine optimisation.
